Valuable scarves from Nepal

You will not easily find anything comparable to these beautiful and elegant garments. They are produced in Nepal, one of the poorest countries in the world. The organisation Women’s Foundation of Nepal (WFN) supports social projects, particularly for women, and thus helps them to improve their situation.

The women learn the weaver’s craft from WFN to earn a living. While the women are being trained, their children are going to school or nursery school. WFN aims to help women to earn a permanent income and to provide for their families. WFN also supports women's shelters in Kathmandu. They provide accommodation to women who have become the victims of violence and abuse and are a place of refuge. WFN even offers them legal aid. The weavers receive 20% of the revenues from the sales, while 60% goes to WFN projects.
